Don’t be afraid of fat!
As you transition to lower carb, you’ll naturally increase your fat intake. This is a good thing! Fat has gotten a bad rap in our society due to the fact that it has more calories than carbs and protein (9 calories per gram versus 4 per gram). Fat is highly satiating, however, and has a minimal effect on blood sugar levels (in fact, it can even help blunt the insulin response to store fat).
