I discovered CrossFit and my passion for fitness in high school as a nationally ranked college tennis recruit. Strength training, conditioning, and proper nutrition were all tools that I believed could give me an edge over my competitors, so I spent a lot of time studying and putting them into action. Since then, I’ve become convinced that deliberate training and a healthy diet are not only key elements to maximizing athletic potential, but also that they are the foundations for every person’s quality of life. My early interest in improving performance has grown into the pursuit of a degree in Nutrition and Toxicology at UC Berkeley, and I now teach Crossfit because it is an accessible way to train that can both improve athletes’ performance and keep regular people healthy.
